Wedding at Starry Night Barn

It was a gorgeous and chilly afternoon for Amara and Chase’s wedding. Starry Night Barn and Studios was the beautiful backdrop for their celebration. Amara told me about the venue when we first met. They were both so excited but it was fully booked for 2017 so they chose 9-29-18. A perfect day. A perfect place. An amazing time!
Chase and Amara met in college at MSU. They certainly have school spirit as you’ll see in their photos :) While discussing what packages would work best, we discovered that we had several connections that we weren’t aware of!  (Read and see, it’s pretty cool!)
I asked Amara to talk about her overall experience. I ask all of my couples to share how their day went, so you the reader, get a peek of the behind-the-scenes of all these amazing couples’ photos.
How did your day start?  – With a glass of champagne! Also waking up with my two MOHs and my dog Sparta. Despite having to wake up at 6:45 in the morning to start getting hair and makeup ready, all my bridesmaids had agreed to sleep on site the night before and it was so much fun to have them all there at the same time getting ready.
How did you feel during getting ready, the ceremony, and the reception? – I have to admit, it wasn’t until after the first dance that all my butterflies finally disappeared! Being surrounded by friends and family definitely helped but it wasn’t until the final twirl and dip of our dance that I finally felt like I could have fun. I think all my pictures after that show me constantly clutching a champagne glass!
Did you enjoy working with me?  I loved working with you. It made it so much more special that not only did we have a connection via Pinterest but also with family! (Her cousins are my nephews!!)
During the whole wedding, I felt like you took all our photo wants and needs into consideration. And you were so good about getting photos around the property despite how chilly it was!
What is one suggestion you have for other brides? – If you are doing a dessert table, make sure you snag some before the guests do! My dessert table was beautiful and although my husband was wise enough to take one of everything, I got so busy dancing I missed out! On a more serious note, I would say don’t try to bury the jitters and butterflies. I think the nervousness is part of the day and it makes it so much more special when you look at the person you are marrying and they suddenly all dissipate. That’s when you truly know :)
Thank you, Amara and Chase.
Love to you both! (and Sparta <3)
