The Crooked Tree Breadworks in Petoskey, MI

Greg Carpenter is owner and head baker at Crooked Tree Breadworks in Petoskey, Mi.

I was lucky girl and got to spend the afternoon with him, photographing his entire baking process, for his special,” Local’s Loaf”. (pictured)

Greg has had a dream to have partnerships with local growers to create “Flour Power”.

Over a few years of travel, learning, and being inspired anew, Greg partnered with Jonathan Scheel of Sheel Family Farm to grow a local wheat, that he could then grind on site and bake!

It’s no easy task friends, and I highly encourage you to read his story in the Holiday Issue Of Edible Grand Traverse.

He tells it so wonderfully!

We had some fun while waiting and I’m pleased to report that the bread was even better than it looks (if that’s possible).

Yum!

Don’t forget!

For the holidays, or any day, you can order some deliciousness right from the website or go have a coffee and chat in their beautiful shop.
