Rachel + Juan/ Cadillac, MI Wedding

Rachel and Juan’s wedding in Cadillac, Mi was so special!
The two first met in Argentina when Rachel was helping establish a church and Juan was there helping from his end. They had to wait to date until the project was done but obviously it went well.
Rachel had to return to the states and their long distance relationship continued. One night Juan surprised her over skype with candles, a sign proposal and a ring box. Rachel loved it but had to remind Juan to step into the frame to accept her emphatic, “Yes!”
With Juan’s family in Argentina, Rachel’s family stood for Juan too. Jackie, Rachel’s mom helped Juan with his boutonniere and Rachel’s Dad was the officiant. Her brother’s were also part of Juan’s groomsmen.Rachel had friends from college and grade school stand with her.
I asked the two of them, “How did you start your day?
Rachel: I started my day feeling completely relaxed. Woke up in no rush and had spent the night at my best friend’s house. We went out for coffee in the morning and then slowly started to get ready for the grand event!
During the ceremony we were both very nervous. Juan said he kept repeating in his head “I’m going to be married by the end of the day” as a way to keep him calm and remind himself of the most important thing. I was extremely focused.
There were bits of the ceremony I tried to translate in a whisper to Juan, but found I couldn’t seem to do it. I was so nervous the Spanish just wouldn’t come. Juan told me later he was concerned I was forgetting how to speak in Spanish. Thankfully, not the case! :)
Did you enjoy working with me?
Rachel: I loved working with you! I felt good about the photos even before I saw them! You were very easy to work with and felt even more comfortable when you understood and were flexible with out unique situation. Thank you! (We had to have a floating date while waiting to see if Juan’s visa was approved in time.)
Words of wisdom for other couples?
Rachel: My suggestion? Have fun and try to enjoy each moment of your big day, because it goes by so quickly!
Excellent advice. Rachel and Juan really made sure to connect with their guests and celebrate the moment with them. So much love was evident!
Congratulations you two!
