Juliana + Nicco / Starry Night Barn

Juliana and Nicco got married at Starry Night Barn & Studios in Leelanau, Mi.

It was a beautiful backdrop for a couple to celebrate and who love their family and friends so much. The energy of the day was 100% love and happiness :)

I asked Juliana to tell me how she felt about the day and what advice she might share with you.

KP: How did your day start?

J: We stayed in cottages at the venue site the night before with some of our wedding party. The morning of our wedding Nicco and I made coffee, took a walk around the gorgeous Starry Night Barn & Studios property, and enjoyed spending some quiet time with just the two of us. I then went into Traverse City to get hair and makeup done with my sister and Mom while Nicco made a pancake breakfast for the wedding party on the woodstove in one of the cabins. It was a great and relaxed start to our day!

KP: How did you feel during getting ready, the ceremony, the reception?

J: We felt very fortunate the whole day to be together and to be supported by so many of our closest friends and family. It was humbling to see the amount of love our community put forth to celebrate our relationship. Getting ready with our wedding party was very fun and relaxed. The ceremony was very personalized with so many family members participating through music, readings, and acting as ushers. It was also very meaningful to have our longtime friend Louise officiate the ceremony and she knocked it out of the park! After all of the “official” parts of the day were complete, we had a blast dancing the night away at our reception in the beautiful barn setting. Once the amplified music ended we went outside where the sky was clear, the stars were out, and we played music with friends and family until 2:00 a.m. around a bonfire. We couldn’t have asked for a better day!

KP: Did you enjoy working with me? Did you have any hesitations at first? Did I overcome the doubts?

J: We very much enjoyed working with you! We had no hesitations as I knew you through Maya (KP’s daughter) and had seen your work on your website and in other publications. It was great to have the engagement photo session with the same photographer as our wedding. It allowed us to get comfortable with you and get to know your style prior to our wedding day. We are very happy with our photos and loved how laid back the whole day felt! (ya!!)

KP: What is one suggestion you have for other brides?

J: Find time on your wedding day to spend with just you and your partner, don’t stress or fret too much about tiny details in the planning process, and make sure the day represents who you are as a couple!

Yes!!! Juliana knows what’s up!  :) Thank you and big love to you both.
