Iron Fish/ Wedding D+G

Diane and Gerard had a stunning wedding at Iron Fish Distillery in Thompsonville, MI.

From the very start of their planning in December, Diane let me know how they wanted a fun Celebration and not a traditional wedding which is so exciting!

They had found love again and wanted family and friends to have a great time laughing, spending time together, and just enjoying the wonderful day in northern Michigan.

My lovely friend Kristie of Simply Exquisite by the Bay was their planner and connected us.

I got to know all about the two of them over the next eight months and we met in February for some wintery engagement photos at Iron Fish that gave us a little preview for the big day.

Diane and Gerard mentioned that they wanted a first look, a private moment before the ceremony, and a few weeks before their day Diane let me know she was surprising Gerard with his long-standing playful love of T-Rex.

He thought he was only incorporating it with his cool T-rex socks and the little statue he brought!

Diane was unsure of the logistics photo wise and I was able to suggest the T-rex arrive alone so Gerard could focus completely on her when she arrived.

It took some convincing to get Gerard out of the barn so Pam could get into costume.

It was such a fun moment and boy was he surprised!

Gerard was floored!

We had him turn around again for beautiful Diane to approach. Her Mom was giving her encouragement :)

Guests were arriving and taking a look at the reception area (the barn was nice and dry!) While things came together for the ceremony.

Kristie had done a beautiful job with the florals and the setup.

Gerard walked with his children down to the circle of trees to the Imperial March and Diane soon joined him with her children. (No Imperial March for her;)

Surrounded by nature, family, and friends D+G made their commitment to each other official!

We had a few moments for family photos before the rain started up again.

The rain was really coming down so I used the balcony space in the barn for photos (I had prepared it beforehand just in case) of just Gerard and Diane.

Then it was time to enjoy the evening with their guests!

Gerard had brewed beer just for the day, and Iron Fish cocktails were in abundance along with toasts, dancing, and play.

Finally, we walked over to the distillery at Iron Fish and toasted Diane and Gerard’s very special day!
