Brooke’s grandfather used to own a home on Gills Pier Beach and she has family that is still nearby. She spent visits as a child playing on the shore and enjoying the beauty of northern Michigan. As a 2023 senior, Brooke was interested in having her portraits reflect her love of the outdoors and the area.
Since she and her Mom were coming for a short visit we picked two back-to-back days in case of poor weather. I also scouted around for a field of wildflowers (daisies)that Brooke was hoping for and checked the beach since we had some alewives die off earlier in the month.
We met and started at Fisher’s Happy Hour Tavern outside. Had fun exploring. Then headed to the field.
Brooke brought several outfits to use throughout the session. After a quick change, we headed down the road to Gills Pier.
Brooke’s Mom got permission to use the beach at her Dad’s former residence.
We all enjoyed the extended session and the sunset was definitely worth waiting for!
