Emily + Charlie//Manistee Forest//Wedding

Emily, Emma, Em…is an extraordinary person. She and her now-husband, Charlie, got married at his family’s cabin nestled in the Manistee forest, this past September.

Every email leading up to the big day, let me know how much Emma and Charlie love the outdoors and their dog Coach. (And each other!)

One email mentioned that Charlie had ridden (mountain bike) from their place in WI and was trying to make the ferry in Ludington, then riding to the Manistee cabin! 126+ miles! Climbing, hiking, kayaking, fishing… visiting breweries and restaurants along the way is what they enjoy most. They mentioned that the forest was where they felt they could exhale..and just breathe.

Another email shared pics of Coach enjoying a swim and the news that Emily’s dressmaker made a special bandana for Coach out of leftover fabric from her dress.

Omg. I love it!

Getting to know you.

We kept communicating frequently. Which I really enjoyed!

I wished over and over that I was as good as Emma at writing about life.

Emma shared the process behind the water-colored map she created and about the cupcakes that Charlie’s cousin Katie made in honor of her late Mom who used to bake for family get-togethers.

I loved learning how important connections are to Em.

She also wanted me to know how talented and special all the other friends, family, and vendors were. <3

I was excited to be a part!

The big day arrived!

When the virus didn’t recede as we all hoped, Emily and Charlie made sure that their guests were comfortable and cared for, and if they weren’t able to attend they would be sure to share the photos from the day.

When I arrived I met first with Charlie and then headed towards the cabin to get photos of everyone interacting.

Emma’s brother Alex was the officiant (he did an amazing job) and her beloved dog Coach was technically her MOH. :)

As her Dad walked her down the aisle Coach came to her to see what was up!

And her niece loved every minute of being a flower girl. (See all the twirling photos :)

After the ceremony, everyone enjoyed the evening around the property.

Jose’s Pig Gig Catering was so good! He was so very kind and made sure everyone tried all his dishes.

The band, The Brother’s Quinn, kept everyone dancing while smores and friends finished out the night.

Love to all three of you!!

Emma, Charlie, and Coach have been making a wonderful life together over the years and it was truly my honor to photograph their amazing celebration of it.

Congratulations!
