Sarah and Patrick chose to celebrate their, “Love Under the Stars ,” at Crooked Creek Ranch in Traverse City. August 13, 2016.
These two really understand each other and share a reverence and love for Nature . I first met them when they had spent time in Alaska hiking up to 12 miles a day!
Their day was like no other and even a little rain couldn’t dampen the fun.
I asked Sarah and Patrick to impart a few thoughts about the day. (And I’m grateful they did!)
Congratulations you two!

How did your day start?
“All the girls stayed in our rental house together on Hohnke Rd and Lauren, one of my bridesmaids made all the girls breakfast tacos on wedding day. We also did some last minute changes to the flower arrangements and hurried over to the venue for hair and makeup starting at 9:30 am.”
Patrick spent the night at his family’s rental house in Glen Arbor on the couch.. and spent the night/wedding morning finalizing the wedding playlist…
How did you feel getting ready? “Excited, worried/anxious I would forget something or miss a detail. A little frantic that Pat would see me at any moment since I had been on site all day. A few of us girls ate raw asparagus, kale salad and drank green smoothies while getting ready. We also finished 3 bottles of champagne together :) ”
During the ceremony? “I felt the ceremony was absolutely perfect aside from the golf carts breaking down – delaying my arrival to the aisle.. and the weird weather. Patrick’s friend since middle school (maybe earlier), Ben Morris married us as he is a career pastor. Another friend, Drew Demaray was our acoustic guitarist and our friend Patrick Rudy announced us as bride and groom.”
What Advice would you give to other couples?
Finally, How was working with KarunaPhoto? “I like that you dish out direction when needed and you have an eye for beauty. You’re open to suggestions as well, like trying new poses or recreating images I had seen elsewhere. You got to know my friends and I think that’s great too! I had stalked your work and I loved the style of your photos; the way you capture the light and beauty of nature without using a ton of funny filters. Our engagement shoot turned out stunning and every picture is gorgeous and I just knew our wedding albums would meet that same standard.”
Again,
Congratulations Sarah and Patrick!!
You are amazing!
