Carrie and Duane

Carrie is an awesome friend. Over the years we have learned a lot about each other!

I’m so thankful. She is going to be an amazing Mom.

I just met Duane but he is so sweet to Carrie and full of fun. These two are going to be great parents together. Love to you both and I am so excited for your new addition!

Last year I met this beautiful woman and her lovely daughter. Miss V was playing the wooden flute and drumming away at a drum circle for Winter Solstice. I love seeing kiddos at drum circles…reminds of the Detroit gatherings and how much my children enjoyed the sounds and dancing.

I digress.

Just a few weeks ago, Kim contacted me for photos. Empire beach was mentioned but we wound up at Cogs Creek Studios in Traverse City.I’m so glad we did. Art and fun clients make for great photos :)

So many silly faces and laughter in one afternoon. It was a joy being with these two!

Daniel 2012

Daniel has been a part of my life almost every day for 7 years.

Mornings at 7:30am he would arrive to ride with the family to school. He fit right in with my kids; Learned to argue and goof around on the 28 mile drive just like them!

This year things changed. Daniel is about to graduate. I am so excited for him, but now he drives himself.

No more Mondays riding up front (the kids rotate who gets the front seat) and no more country music on his day. (Phew! lol Just kidding.)

Thankfully his Mom asked me to take Daniel’s senior photos.

We kept it local and headed to the bridge. Turkey gnats and poison ivy couldn’t stop us.

Before we captured some cool car shots Daniel gave his Dad a big squeeze. Priceless!

Kathy and Tim, your son is wonderful! You have done a great job.

Thank you for having Daniel be a part of our family :)

I can’t wait to see what you do next Daniel!

Kaycie is graduating!

You know, and I know, that Time just won’t slow down. I was reminded of this when I got the call to photograph Kaycie for her Senior pictures. She and my oldest daughter have gone to school together since I think second grade!
I’ve watched Kaycie grow into a gorgeous woman (still lots of little Kaycie still in there) and I am excited for her as she wants to become a veternarian.
Kaycie knew she wanted a 40′s sepia look to some of her photos. I hope she likes them as much as I do!

Michigan Leagacy Art Park

Late last Fall my family and I headed to Crystal Mountain to visit the Michigan Legacy Art Park. The sculptures there are so stunning in their simplicity and impact.
It was a great day of exploration and leaf crunching!
I hope to visit again soon as I imagine the woods with trillium makes the sculptures even more unique.
