I know…I know… I am wayyyyy to young to be looking back, (heehee) but today I was thinking about all the wonderful things that have come into my life from following my passion.
In ancient times :
1.) College, and my super – cool instructor Rob Kangas, showed me that my artistic nature could come out in the form of photos.
(Back then I didn’t want anything to do with the business side of Photography. I was an artist! lol)
2.) Friends who kept me grounded. It was so key that the people around me were exploring and living. I made a lifelong friendship with Steve Fox who was my model, cohort, and super brave explorer into the unknown in the world of film photography.
3.) Kathy Leonard; the most patient of mentors, and amazing photographer. She showed me how to treat all the guests at a wedding. How to behave in polite company. How to blend but not get lost, how to deal with other business associates, and of course how to take magnificent pictures. I was so lucky to have her as a friend.
4.) My beautiful friend Heather for allowing me to photograph her wedding, the first in my portfolio… and when I switched to home births she let me photograph the most intimate of moments for her.
5.) All the bands, musicians, and poets that are in my portfolio..you are so much more than a photo! You fed my heart through all those years. You helped me become me!
6.) My always supportive husband who bought me my first digital camera and reminded me of my dream, gave me the love and space to pursue it. I would have given up my passion without him.
I get all teary remembering all the adventures of the past, but it makes me even more excited for the present.
This is sounding like some sort of award acceptance speech! lol. Thank you if you have made it this far.
These days I am merging business with pleasure. Artist is always first, but business stuff has to be there too to succeed.
Everything I learn and do comes from a strong sense of all that I am.
I mean, how cool is that, to have a sense of who you are and what you want to be when you grow up?!
So, are you following your passion?.jpg)

Thank you for this…what a wonderful reminder to look back and be grateful for all that has brought us to where we are. And what an incredible gift it is to be brave enough to choose to follow your passion. Just what I needed today :)
Thanks Nicole! You are one amazing lady :)
I am so happy that we had that time in school with each other.
